Photographs

PHOTOGRAPHS – family, friends and contacts

I hope these glimpses may give some idea, however superficially, of many of the peoplewho have played a part in my life.

One could argue that photographs taken long ago are anachronisms now, a label which past likenesses seem to warrant. But they represent the realities of their moment. The images were real, and deep down in my mind the people they represent haven’t changed, are as they were. They’re as real still as the passion, fondness, or simply liking they brought, which came and grew and changed – for the better sometimes and sometimes for the worse – only to lose sharpness slowly, fade, then seem to go. But they’ve been there, it has all happened, it has been very, very real. So we have reality … a human reality which shouldn’t be brushed aside, and mustn’t be forgotten.
